Partation Museum Amritsar
π Partition Museum β Amritsar
The Partition Museum is located in Town Hall, Amritsar, just a short walk from the Golden Temple and Jallianwala Bagh.
It is the worldβs first museum dedicated to the Partition of India in 1947, which led to the creation of India and Pakistan.
The museum captures the pain, loss, and resilience of millions who were displaced, separated from families, or killed during the largest mass migration in human history.
It houses personal belongings, photographs, newspaper clippings, oral histories, and original documents of Partition survivors.
Visitors can hear real survivor stories, see the “Tree of Hope”, and feel the emotional and human side of a tragic historical event that shaped modern South Asia.
It serves not just as a place of remembrance, but also a message of peace, unity, and healing.
