We run Spiti the responsible way: SUVs only, drivers with multiple Spiti seasons, fuel and acclimatisation planned (Kaza sits at 12,500 ft), and honest weather calls — if Kunzum or the Gramphu road misbehaves, your driver has the experience and the buffer plan. Chandigarh → Kalpa (330 km, 9 hrs)
Early start up NH5 through Kinnaur along the Sutlej. Evening Kinner Kailash views from Kalpa.
Kalpa → Tabo (150 km, 6 hrs)
Nako lake, Gue mummy, and into Spiti. Overnight at Tabo's 1000-year monastery village.
Tabo → Dhankar → Kaza
Dhankar monastery and viewpoint, Pin Valley option, evening in Kaza.
Kaza high villages
Key Monastery, Kibber, Hikkim post office, Komic and Langza fossils and Buddha statue.
Kaza → Chandratal (95 km, 5 hrs)
Over Kunzum Pass to the moon lake. Star-filled camping night.
Chandratal → Manali (120 km, 7 hrs)
Gramphu road and Atal Tunnel to Manali comforts.
Manali → Chandigarh (300 km, 7 hrs)
